We’re all used to watching stories of hardship and deprivation overseas on the television, but we sometimes forget that there are people closer to home that need help – close enough that we can actually do something about it.

For sometime now we’ve been volunteering our efforts to help the less fortunate in the local community – those who need dental care, but for whatever reason are not in a position to receive it.

Liasing with organisations like the Salvation Army, the team at Rockingham Dental Centre donate their time to provide free dental care to people in need. The whole practice – dentists, nurses, hygienists and our reception team – get involved in this very worthy cause.

Many of these patients have been in and out of crisis care, or have suffered periods of homelessness or abuse. Their dental issues aren’t their only problems, but we’re pleased to do our little bit to help them get back on track, and to put some pride and dignity back into their lives.
