National Dental Foundation – Dental Rescue Day

News-Dental-Rescue-Day

Once again, our wonderful crew recently gave up their Saturday to provide free treatment for homeless people.

Rockingham Dental Cen

tre has held Rescue Days over the last 12 years under the auspices of The National Dental Foundation. This foundation has now merged with the Australian Dental Association Foundation to form the Australian Dental Health Foundation (ADHF), whose mission is to provide pro bono emergency dental treatment to the homeless and those in danger of becoming homeless. Russell is the Chairman of the ADHF in WA.

The ADHF also recruits dentists to run a clinic in the St Patrick’s Community Centre in Fremantle. We have an excellent surgery set up at St Pat’s, and it is presently being extended to create an X-ray room which will house a donated OPG machine. This clinic has been running very successfully for over a year now.

We are very proud of the St Pat’s Clinic, as it is the only one of its type run by the ADHF in Australia. We’d also like to thank Mrs Gerri McMullen (a patient of Russell’s), who kindly donated $100 to pay for Hygiene Packs (toothbrush, toothpaste, floss and mouthwash).
